Biomimicry Rules!!!
Brad will be conducting another workshop at
NotaCon, Cleveland Ohio on April 16 2010
Here is the Info
Biomimicry (from bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning [imitation]) is a relatively new science that studies nature, its models, systems, processes and elements and then imitates or takes creative inspiration from them to solve human problems sustainably.
Biomimicry is an amazing science that will change the way you look at designing anything. With 3.8 billion years of research, nature has produced some amazing results.
We are just now starting to steal these really great ideas from nature.
Airplane wings, phones, solar cells, telescope mirrors, Olympic swim wear and more thing than I can list have all been improved by borrowing ideas from Nature.
If you don't own this book, you should!! This is the
hallmark publication on Biomimicry. Pictured next to the book is Janine
herself.
